Awards & Honors

Elaine graduated with Honors from the College of Social Studies at Wesleyan University in Middletown, CT.  Upon graduation, she was selected as a CORO Fellow in New York City, where she participated in the CORO Foundation's year-long Leadership Training fellowship.

In 2008, Elaine and David Taylor-Klaus and Judith and Mark Taylor received The Amit Program's Jerry and Dulcy Rosenberg Shorashim Award for individuals who have made a difference philanthropically and with their voice in the disability community. The award was given for their role in establishing and sponsoring the Amit Lecture Series for parents, educators and professionals.

Elaine was selected for inclusion in Georgia State University's Oral History Library of Activist Women in Georgia.  The full transcript of that oral history is available at Georgia State University.
